How long do I have to file a personal injury claim in California?

California's statute of limitations gives most accident victims 2 years from the date of injury to file a claim. But deadlines can be much shorter — if a government vehicle or agency is involved, you may have as little as 6 months to file a government tort claim. Don't wait.
