Earlier this month a Los Angeles jury awarded a 22 year old man $48 Million because he suffered a severe skin disorder that was caused by the popular pain reliever Motrin. During trial, the plaintiff’s attorney claimed that Motrin did not have adequate warnings and should have indicated the possibility of such side effects.
According to the law, a product may be considered defective as a result of a manufacturer’s failure to give adequate warnings. A good warning will usually catch the attention of the consumer, explain the side effects, and explain how to deal with the side effects, if any.
